This is a weird phenomenon, if you could call it like that, seeing through people or walls. Many years ago, my wife was holding agnihotra ceremonies at home. Agnihotra is a fire ceremony in which one burns cow dung at sunrise and sunset accompanied with a mantra. It is a very powerful ceremony to harmonize one’s environment. One morning, I woke up in bed, some time during the night. I heard a strange repeating sound as from a gong. It was coming from the living room. Still being in bed, I opened my eyes, and I saw a strong yellow-orange-red-light shining through the curtain that separates the living room from the little hallway (which is in between the living room and the bedroom). It was not a constant light, as its strength varied. I was wondering what this could be (it was still pitch dark outside and inside the house). Could it be that it was a light from outside that is shining through the windows, but the light was way too strong for this. Outside the window we have a large meadow, and the neighbor’s house is even farther away. There was no lightning storm, it was a very calm night. It looked that this light was coming from a fire, because of its color and flickering. However the light was strong and bright. I got out of bed, and went into the living room, but there was no light anymore. Everything is dark. Nothing outside either.
Later on, in the morning I realized that the estimated location of the light in the living room corresponded with where we were holding the Agnihotra ceremony. The fire from the cow dung however is a very little fire, with small flames. What I saw, although the light was behind the curtain, was at least a man’s height. I concluded that what I had seen was the fire spirit that was residing in the living room.
Here is the really strange thing. I went back to my bed in the same position when I saw the fire shining through the curtain, and noticed that I couldn’t see the curtain at all, because of a bedroom wall blocking my view. I cannot explain how I saw the curtain, other than I must have seen this with a latent psychic ability which made the wall invisible. I know it sounds weird, but somehow I was able to see through the wall, as if it was not there. Or was it the wall itself that made transparent?
That brings me to a Reddit post I found recently, in which a person explains how he/she saw right through the body of one of her patients, but at the same time she also could see the patient himself too. What suggests to me that to her vision the patient’s body was kind of transparent. In her case she was probably seeing with a heightened sense of awareness. Maybe you can call it a psychic vision, with which she was seeing both the patients and the people behind him at the same time. Here is the account:
I’m an RBT and I work with children ages 2-10 with developmental disabilities. A few weeks ago I was working with a client in one of the rooms he loves to play in. We had the door open and across from our room was another room that the other kids were in for one of their group activities. My client has this huge fixation with light switches, so as reinforcer for completing some programs, I allowed him to play with the light switch in the room for a few minutes (room had a window so even with the light off it was still bright in the room).
While he’s playing with the light switch and standing in front of the doorway, I’m writing some therapy session notes. I look up to check on him and I have to do a double take as I realize that I can see the kids in the other room playing their group activity unobstructed by my clients presence which should be blocking them. My client is doing a lot of swaying back and forth, and it’s as if he’s not even there. It looked as if he was in a state of full solidity, yet pure transparency. Like, I could see him perfectly but also the kids directly behind him perfectly with neither my client nor the other kids being obstructed by the other. It’s very hard to explain, but that seems to be the best way to put it if you can imagine it. This lasted a few seconds and ended when my client approached me to get me to play with the light switches too.
Needless to say, I did NOT add this minor detail of our session to the therapy notes. (Reddit)
A Reddit user added the following comment, what also shows that an altered state of consciousness is able to perceive things quite differently:
One time me and my sister and friends took a small dose of mushrooms. We didn’t trip but we did have small visuals. Me and my sister were sitting on the porch at night smoking a cigarette, and my friend felt the urge to run and then do jumping jacks in the street. And as me and my sister laughed and watched we both stopped and stared intently because we both could see through her. She was there but completely transparent. It’s just funny that we both saw it.
A changed state of consciousness is one thing, when such transparencies show up in pictures, it starts to get really weird.
An apparent impossible transparency was once shown to me in a photograph (this was before digital cameras). I mentioned this before in another post (A Sweat Lodge, Magic and a Templar). In short, a friend showed me some pictures of a friend of hers. He himself was already a strange fellow. I picked up on his energies when we were in a sweat lodge. A magician had been casting spells on him causing problems in his life. My friend showed me pictures taken at his home. I had seen pictures before in which light threads, light beams, orbs and hazes appeared. In his pictures, they were all over the place and showing up clearly. One picture was very strange: he was standing behind the kitchen counter, and the wall behind him shows through his body, as if he was half transparent! How that is possible I have no idea.
I found a similar case on Reddit as a comment on another post:
We had a picture come out like that one time. My brother and mom went bowling with some friends and my mom took a picture of one of our friends when he was up. You could see the lane and everything through him, like he was only partially there. (Reddit)
I wonder if more people have had similar experiences of seeing through people and walls or objects, or have pictures showing transparent people, but are not talking about it.
